Garden Stairs

Garden Stairs are an elegant and functional design feature perfect for any garden that works over multiple levels. Having defined outdoor areas separated by height is a fantastic way to create a unique and inviting garden. Whether stairs are used to connect house to garden or to join separate outdoor areas, it is easy to establish a beautiful space. Not only this, but having distinct levels means that each section can be dedicated to a specific purpose, whether that be alfresco dining, a vegetable plot or an area of flower beds. Garden Stairs can also be set into the bank of a steep incline to make ascending and descending easier to maximise the utility of the space. Our gorgeous Garden Stairs are available in a huge range of sizes, with bespoke options available to ensure that you get the perfect stairs to fit your outdoor area. With a choice of Corten Steel or Aluminium, it is easy to find a set of stairs that will suit your design scheme and bring a focal point boating both form and function into your outdoor area.

Corten Steel

Corten Steel (or weathering steel) is an alloy that naturally forms a rust coating the over the first 9 months or so of it being exposed to the weather. Interestingly, due to the composition of this special alloy, this rust coating forms a protective layer they prevents further rusting. The steel underneath remains unimpaired as the outer layer continues to protect and regenerate as it exposed to water and oxygen.

One of the most striking landmarks in Britain, The Angel of the North, by the artist Anthony Gormly is made of COR-TEN weathering steel. It is one of many remarkable structures in the world made of weathering steel including but not limited to the Barclays Centre, The Chicago Picasso Sculpture and the Australian centre for contemporary art. COR-TEN (CORrosion resistance TENsile strength) weathering steel was first invented by United States Steel for use in the manufacture of ore transports. Since it was creation in the 1930’s, a slew of artists and designers have seen the potential of Corten weathering steel to create installations of great style and beauty.

Aluminium

Aluminium has become the new smart material for garden design in recent years. Lightweight yet incredibly durable and weather-resistant, it is the perfect material for outdoor use. It has a sleek appearance and can be easily powder-coated in a huge variety of scratch-resistant colours. Modern in appearance, aluminium Garden Stairs are perfect for any contemporary garden design creating a focal point to work from.
