Andes Corten Steel Square Planter with Wheels by Adezz
When you are choosing a planter, you sometimes need to consider flexibility in your design. For example, if you want to place a planter somewhere that may need access in this future. This could be over an access port or under a window. If this is the case then you may want to consider a planter with wheels. These stylish planters come with strong castor wheels hidden discreetly in the base of the planter. This means you can place your planter wherever you like knowing it is fully movable when you need. In addition to this, these Andes Corten Steel Square Planters with Wheels are ideal for cafes and restaurants. You can use them to create mobile planting barriers that can be brought inside at the end of service.
Fabricated from high-quality, 2mm thick Corten Steel these planters are hard-wearing and durable. Furthermore, you can choose from a wide-range of sizes, or if you are looking for something specific, bespoke options are available. Please contact us for details. The gorgeous Corten orange develops over time and will look perfect when planted with a variety of green foliage. These planters also come pre-drilled with drainage holes to allow excess water to flow freely out of the base. Please see below for links to selected technical drawings.

Corten Steel (or weathering steel) is an alloy that naturally forms a rust coating the over the first 9 months or so of it being exposed to the weather. Interestingly, due to the composition of this special alloy, this rust coating forms a protective layer that prevents further rusting. The steel underneath remains unimpaired as the outer layer continues to protect and regenerate as it exposed to water and oxygen.
One of the most striking landmarks in Britain, The Angel of the North, by the artist Anthony Gormly is made of COR-TEN weathering steel. It is one of many remarkable structures in the world made of weathering steel including but not limited to the Barclays Centre, The Chicago Picasso Sculpture and the Australian centre for contemporary art. COR-TEN (CORrosion resistance TENsile strength) weathering steel was first invented by United States Steel for use in the manufacture of ore transports. Since the creation in the 1930’s, a slew of artists and designers have seen the potential of Corten weathering steel to create installations of great style and beauty. This Adezz range is a notable addition to that list.
You will see in the gallery an image representing the ageing process that Corten steel goes through, and although this is outlined in the section above, you can see in the image the range of shades these planters take on as they form their protective coating.
