Chelsea Trough | Fibreglass Planter
The Chelsea style of planter is by far one of the most popular planter designs that we sell. In this design we see the combination of the traditional and the contemporary that makes it hard for this planter not to fit into any design scheme. In many ways, this amalgamation of the modern and traditional reflects the affluent area of London for which is named.
We offer this planter, like many in our fibreglass range, in a faux lead finish – and generally speaking, we find that this is the most popular design amongst our customers. However, we also offer this planter in a range of other interesting finishes that would be more or less suited to different situations. For example, if you want to embrace the more traditional aspects of this design, we offer it in antique faux lead – to give the impression that this planter has aged over time.
Conversely, if you are looking to embrace the more contemporary aspects of it’s design, we offer this planter in both Rust and Bronzage finishes. Although, both of these finishes would normally add age to a planter, because these are somewhat at odds with its design, they become the medium for this planter to express avant-garde design through vibrant colours and interesting textures. These finishes will want to be place in areas that are quite plain, bland or otherwise lacking in embellishment.
All of these finishes are imitations of heavy metals and given the sizes that these planters are available in, we can be thankful that they are made of fibreglass and not those traditional materials. Particularly in the case of the finishes like Rust, the structural integrity is also far more robust.
