The matte white fibreglass cube is perhaps one of the most aesthetically pleasing items we have in our range. Its design is subtle and perfectly suited to blending in with other decorations in a tranquil environment. Unlike the comparable glossy planter, there is nothing here that looks even remotely artificial. If the glossy planter sports some high scale glamour, then the matte white fibreglass planter is its down to earth sibling. Cube are used less often than towers to plant height enhancing plants like Lollipop bay trees, but it is not unheard of. Such natural columns are ideal for flanking door ways or paths – and the cube design in particular is ideal for holding its place in the centre of your garden or outdoor space, serving as a highlight. It is wide enough to do this, and provides more planting space that towers, troughs or dividers. In fact, if you wanted to create a large raised bed for planting flowers, then the decision to buy a few of these planters, wouldn’t be a bad one.
Traditionally, that is to say, historically, a great many planters have been made of other materials like metal or stone. In fact, a particularly popular choice for making planters was lead – despite being extremely heavy and highly toxic. An awful lot has changed since then however, and things have definitely move on for the better. Now, planters are most often made of fibreglass, which can only be described as a smart material. It is far lighter than stone (and certainly lead) and it is naturally resistant to the adverse effects of the weather and to the bleaching that is caused by exposure to ultraviolet light. This makes it an ideal material in which to build something that will have to stand out in your garden or outdoor space, exposed to the elements. Where weight is concerned, please bear in mind that any planter of sufficient volume, will become heavy, verging on immovable, when filled up with soil. That is no different with this planter. In fact, this is a blessing. It means that these lightweight fibreglass planters will be easy to install, but will not be easily moved or toppled in a storm.
If you are purchasing these white fibreglass planters for residential use, then consider planting them with some strong or bright colours. This planter was designed to blend seamlessly with whatever it is accompanying. It is not the star of the show, but the supporting role, and will not draw attention away from the main event. Alternatively, these can be used decoratively without necessarily being planted up, as they do on their own merit, possess an aesthetic quality. We have however designed these planters as part of a range that is intended to be a solution to larger developments.
Flora Select offers a wide range of pots and garden planters. With the variety of the range that is provided, it is easy to find pots for any design style. Whether that design style is modern or traditional, rustic or contemporary – you will be able to find the planters and plants to suit it.
