Steel Patina Round Vegetable Planters are bottomless and come in a variety of sizes. Bottomless planters have excellent drainage as they allow excess water to drain freely, preventing waterlogging. This avoids root rot and ensures healthy growth,  other advantages are that you can choose the best potting medium for growing in especially if you do not have good soil. Steel patina is suitable for planters as it is more cost effective than corten steel and develops a similar orange patina on the surface of the planter. It is also strong and durable, which makes it a long lasting planter option for gardens.

What is mild steel?

Mild steel is an alternative material to corten steel. It naturally weathers and forms a rusty patina on the outside, this creates a deep orange colour. It has a low carbon content, this means it is easier to shape and weld.

How will your mild steel weather?

Steel Patina Round Vegetable Planters weather over a period of 6-12 months. Please be aware during this period, there may be run off from rainwater. Therefore, if your planter is sat on surfaces like stones or concrete it may stain.

After your planters arrive, please unpack immediately to prevent any irregular staining.
